Woolpert is hiring an Aerial Acquisition Manager to join our dynamic Air Operations​ team. This role can be based in our Brisbane, Melbourne, or Perth offices. This position reports to the Aviation Manager and is responsible for providing team leadership and direct the activities of the Flight Planning and Aerial Acquisition Technical Support team to achieve the operational and organizational key performance objectives of Woolpert.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

As an Aeriel Acquisition Manager at Woolpert, you will:

  • Manage the development and continuous improvement of airborne sensor operations procedures, and sensor flight planning to maximise operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure adherence and promotion of the aviation operational procedures by regularly undertaking Quality Assurance check flights with the Air Operations team.
  • Support, mentor and provide operational best practice and guidance to all ASO and flight planning staff.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop new technologies and methodologies that enhance business effectiveness.
  • Work closely with Market Directors and the Project Management Office to ensure proposed project Sensor selection meets client requirements and provide acquisition flight plan and cost budget.
  • Oversees all sensor inspections, repairs and component changes and accompanying documentation in corporate document control and manage Sensor Suppliers to ensure appropriate technical assistance is delivered during times of outage and repair.
  • Provide management oversight during periods of absence of Operations Manager and Aviation Manager.
  • Coordinates with senior management, officers, and owners on matters related to business operations.
  • The Aerial Acquisition Manager may delegate some of these duties but retains overall responsibility.

Minimum Requirements 

  • Tertiary studies in Frontline Management or significant equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with aerial survey sensors, flight management systems and procedures
  • Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
  • Valid Passport
  • Crew Resource Management currency
  • Drug and Alcohol Awareness currency
  • Hypoxia practical training currency

Qualifications

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience with aerial survey sensors, flight management systems and procedures.
  • Demonstrated operational knowledge of aerial survey sensors and flight management systems.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the best practice for aerial survey techniques and be thoroughly competent in the use of aerial survey equipment and software systems.
  • Expertise with the logistic, technical and professional support of aerial survey instruments.
  • Advanced computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft based software including Word, Excel, SharePoint and NetSuite.
  • An ability to work independently without daily supervision; and interpret and follow instructions and procedures.
  • Can liaise with all stakeholders, developing and maintaining positive relationships.
