Data Technician I

Seeking a new career challenge? Then Woolpert is seeking you! Woolpert is hiring an IT Data Technician at our Ashburn, VA office. This position reports to the Enterprise Storage Lead and is responsible for providing Woolpert’s Bulk Data Ingest service. Qualified candidates will be detail-oriented and a strong communicator. Priority will be given to candidates who have working knowledge of enterprise storage platforms and pc/server hardware. Experience with data copy and analysis tools is a plus. Work hours will be M-F Noon-5pm ET.

Essential Functions  

As an IT Data Technician at Woolpert, you will:
• Collect data drives from the local UPS Store daily
• Track drives through the data ingest lifecycle
• Communicate with various business personnel
• Coordinate shipping logistics for drive returns
• Copy data to our primary data storage platform and Azure cloud
• Collaborate with network and server administrators when needed to ensure efficient operation of the company’s infrastructure
• Provide suggestions for continual improvement

Minimum Requirements   

• Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree
• Software: Microsoft Office, Teams, Windows 10/11

Preferred Skills and Abilities 

• Experience with Microsoft Office, Teams, Windows 10/11
• Analytical thinker
• Oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with data transfer and analysis tools such as Robocopy and Treesize
• Experience with asset management practices
• Knowledge of remote system control procedures (RDP, VNC)
• Strong attention to detail
