Overview

Bermello Ajamil, a Woolpert Company (BA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager/Team Leader to join our dynamic Civil Engineering team. The ideal candidate will lead and manage complex civil engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Must be familiar with local, state, and federal regulations and have experience in business development.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all phases of civil engineering projects including planning, design, execution, permitting, and closure.
  • Provide technical guidance, supervision, and support to junior engineers and project teams, ensuring adherence to civil engineering standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project requirements are met and maintain strong relationships.
  • Develop project budgets and schedules, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on track. Participate in monthly project control reviews.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and review project documentation, including reports, proposals, and technical specifications.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project delivery.
  • Attend meetings with local organizations and participate in outreach events, as required.
  • 10% travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in civil and site civil engineering project management of land development, infrastructure, water and wastewater treatment and disposal, drainage and stormwater waste plans, and transportation projects.
  • Must be a Florida-registered Professional Engineer (PE); additional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED, ENV SP) are a plus.
  • Proven experience in dealing with local regulatory agencies such as WASD, DERM, and Public Works.
  • Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Office suite and MS Project) and strong understanding of civil engineering principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
