Overview

We are looking for an experienced Engineer Project Manager to support our South Region team, focusing on the design and management of transportation infrastructure projects, predominantly for TxDOT. This individual will be integral in guiding our team to deliver exceptional schematic designs, PS&E, structural plans, and precise cost estimations. Additionally, the role will leverage leadership, technical expertise, and professional relationships to foster growth in the Texas market.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage experience, leadership, and relationships to assist in the growth of the group in Texas.
  • Project and industry forecasting, ensuring our team stays ahead of trends and opportunities.
  • Network and represent the company at industry and professional business development events, conferences, and presentations.
  • Prepare and manage proposals for TxDOT and other clients, developing a network of subconsultants and forming teaming agreements.
  • Lead and collaborate with a team to manage and execute bridge design tasks for various transportation projects, with a primary focus on TxDOT projects.
  • Oversee the preparation of comprehensive structural designs, specifications, and cost estimations for structures such as bridges, retaining walls, and other related infrastructure.
  • Manage bridge and infrastructure multi-discipline projects, coordinating across teams to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Supervise load rating analysis, rehabilitation concepts, and structure type analysis evaluations.
  • Mentor engineering teams in the use of current engineering design software to complete designs efficiently.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from other offices and disciplines to establish a cohesive team that delivers projects on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical guidance to Professional Engineer/EIT and CAD Designers/Drafters.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
  • Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts required for projects.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on design calculations and drawings.
  • Develop engineering budgets and schedules to support effective project management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 12+ years of relevant experience; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Texas PE license is required; SE license is preferred.
  • Experience with industry-standard software such as PGSuper, WinCore, LEAP Bridge Concrete, MicroStation, spColumn, LPile, MDX, CSiBridge, STAAD PRO, AASHTOWare, etc.
  • Proven track record of leading bridge design projects and managing multi-discipline infrastructure projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and manage a network of subconsultants and teaming agreements.
