Engineer will be part of a fast-paced team consolidating multiple application instances into a single enterprise system supporting more than 85,000 users. The United States Department of the Air Force (DAF) GeoBase program manages geospatial information in an enterprise database that provides web-enabled and desktop solutions to support its Civil Engineering mission and mission partners.

The Air Force Geospatial Information Management System (AFGIMS) is a capability for Department of Defense (DoD), DAF and Intra-agency partners to access, visualize and analyze DoD geospatial data and products for all mission and decision support requirements. AFGIMS is currently undergoing migration to a cloud environment with all capabilities transitioning to the new Geospatial Engineering Operations Mapping and Analysis Portal (GEOMAP) system.

The GEOMAP Automation Test Engineer will develop the testing environment and automated tests, as well as deploy established tools and testing software within an Agile Development / DevSecOps framework. The primary focus of these tasks will be to support testing and vulnerability mitigation, continuous monitoring compliance, and information assurance documentation required for GEOMAP Risk Management Framework (RMF) system accreditation.


Security Requirements:

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance
    • Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening

 

Location Requirements:

  • Automation Test Engineer must reside within a 2 hours’ drive from a U.S. Air Force base in the continental United States to work on secure client networks

 

Professional Requirements:

  • Minimum: current Information Assurance Technician – Level 2 (IAT-II) certification, such as a Security+ or CCNA
  • Preferred: current Information Assurance Technician – Level 3 (IAT-III) certification, such as a CASP+ or CISSP

 

Skill Requirements:

  • Significant experience as a Test Manager in an Agile development environment
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a Senior Automation Engineer
  • Experience with Selenium test automation software

 

 

Responsibilities:
Mission: Deliver Trusted Geospatial Engineering Data, Maps, and Services

  • Develop and execute functional/non-functional, backend, and alternate path tests
  • Configure and develop the releases and Version Description Documents (VDD)
    • Participate in unit and system regression testing events
    • Qualification Test and Evaluation (QT&E) and Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) processes may be required based on the extent of the releases.
  • Develop automated tests within the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud One environment using established tools and testing software
    • May also be required to create this environment and test area
    • Refine and update the automated tests according to GEOMAP team testing requirements as they evolve with progress of the project
  • Leverage an Agile software process with demonstrations and testing incorporated into sprints
    • Each backlog item shall include a plan for testing prior to the team committing to work on it at sprint planning
    • These demonstrations may include online streaming, recordings, or other means so that they are accessible to all stakeholders
    • In addition to Contractor testing, all government unit testing shall be supported
  • Support information assurance documentation, testing, and vulnerability mitigation for Authority to Operate (ATO) and Approval to Connect (ATC) efforts to achieve full Risk Management Framework (RMF) system accreditation and enable continuous monitoring compliance
