Woolpert is currently seeking a Software Engineer Team Lead responsible for full life cycle delivery of systems to enable data synchronization between on-premises computer aided mass appraisal (CAMA) systems and the CAMA Cloud platform. Data integration technologies include common Relationship Database Management Systems (RDBMS), AS400, and application programming interface (API) based systems. This position will lead a development team as well as work hands on to enhance current operational systems, improve operational effectiveness, and broaden modernization efforts.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate is someone who not only possesses strong technical skills but is also committed to mentoring and elevating the skills of team members as well as providing technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers.
• Communicate technical topics clearly, in language that can be easily understood by team.
• Collaborate with designers, and product teams to propose solutions to meet the goals of clients and their products.
• Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and approachable manner, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
• Mentor and guide a team of developers in best practices.
• Design, build, scale, and enhance software products, apps, and platforms based on client needs and business requirements.
• Define, refine, and document best practices that enable excellent team performance.
• Gather, write, and analyze user requirements to create specifications defining current and ‘to-be’ business rules and business processes for systems development.
• Technical leadership of a development team, including people-leadership of developers.
• Ensure quality of core system deliverables while adhering to timing and needs of the clients/business.
• Assign and oversee daily tasks of team members.
• Provide and lead technical advice for risk analysis and change control.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well on cross functional teams.
• Lead and contribute to the development of customer or company information management standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar.
• Minimum of 5 to 8 years of professional software development experience (more strongly preferred).
• Experience building and scaling software products and enjoys mentoring and leading other developers.
• Experience architecting and deploying software products to cloud providers like Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, or Azure.
• Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience fulfilling a Team Lead role, leading scrums/projects.
• Strong experience with Java Server Faces, Spring, and Hibernate.
• Experience with database development (specifically MySQL).
• Strength in selected Platform (Microsoft).
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft products, specifically Visual Studio .Net, C#, Visual FoxPro, and Windows.
• Extensive experience with SQL Server MSSQL.
• Proficient verbal and written English communication skills.
• Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor‘s degree; or 6 years and a Master‘s Degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
• Proven experience as a Software Engineer or similar role.
