Overview

We are looking for a Program or Project Coordinator to support a large and integrated engineering and scientific research program to contribute to the overall success of our client’s research and development activities. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, ability to organize wide ranging research and program activities and tasks, multitask throughout the day to implement and coordinate research and program tasks, comfort with STEM concepts and program management skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate technical and program information in clear, concise, and user-friendly  forms to a range of researchers, support teams, clients, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key asset to program managers (PM), principal investigators (PI), and other professional staff, coordinating a wide variety of management and technical tasks essential to program or project administration of the research project team.
• Anticipate research, project, or program needs by preparing draft material using knowledge from historic documents, current status, and annual project/fiscal cycle. Drafts may include budget, task, program and project schedule, and milestone spreadsheets; recurring status reports; project or program documentation and presentations; and other required, recurring documents necessary for project or program execution.
• Create and coordinate communications and technical materials associated with successfully developing and transitioning technology to operational use as well as communicating the program internally and externally. This may include assistance with progress reviews, website generation, publications tracking and routing, videos, and more.
• Assist PMs and PIs to manage the resources of research projects to ensure that project and program milestones are met. This includes monitoring project expenditures and preparing summary reports of spending; coordinating meetings and team calls; drafting initial documents; and managing project schedules and needs with PM and PI partners.
• Assist PMs and PIs in coordinating with assistant technical directors for internal program reviews to develop or collect needed documentation, requirements, and templates.
• Participate in meetings as note taker and share that information with team.
• Coordinate, track, and follow up on team documents such as, agreements, technical reports and technical notes, shipping team equipment, and team documents such as project management plans.
• Assist PMs and PIs to create and maintain basic team marketing requirements, such as fact sheets, ERDC wiki pages, storyboards, and logos.
• Organize and tract status of government furnished equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the business, sciences, or a related field.
• Must be able to work on-site in Vicksburg, MS full time (Monday-Friday). 
• Must be able to travel for up to 5 trips a year (one-week trips).
• Must be able to complete all security requirements; training and registrations required by the federal government. 
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Proven experience as a project coordinator, project manager, program manager or similar role, preferably in scientific research.
• Proficiency in communication tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint. Preferred experience with Visio. 
• Familiarity with documentation platforms (e.g., SharePoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
