BERMELLO AJAMIL & PARTNERS, a Woolpert Company (BA) is looking for full-time Project Manager for its Ports & Maritime Engineering team for our Coral Gables, FL office who is looking to join a creative and collaborative team. 

 

The Ports and Marine Engineering Project Manager will play a pivotal role in providing both technical and managerial leadership across a diverse range of marine and waterfront projects. This individual will spearhead a multidisciplinary team comprising architects, engineers, and planners, focusing on projects that include the design, development, and enhancement of piers, marinas, waterfronts, and related coastal infrastructure worldwide. The core responsibilities encompass managing various project discipline leads, overseeing the design and preparation of construction documents, offering project leadership, facilitating communication with clients and colleagues, and supporting the Director of Marine and Port Engineering in expanding the business.

Responsibilities

This role is tailored for a Project Manager with a marine or structural engineering background and possessing experience in executing heavy civil infrastructure projects. While the ideal candidate will have direct experience in marine engineering, we are open to qualified candidates from adjacent industries with similar engineering fundamentals, such as building structural, civil, or coastal engineering. We will provide specialized training to equip the candidate with the necessary expertise to succeed in the marine engineering sector.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Reviewing complete projects for quality and conformity, and approving work performed by other engineers.
  • Independently applying extensive and diversified theoretical principles in the field of marine engineering.
  • Assisting upper-level management as a technical specialist, advisor, or expert.
  • Supervising all necessary staff to complete assignments.
  • Creating and approving scope, budgets and schedules for projects or assignments.
  • Preparing proposals and collaborating with the marketing team.
  • Representing the company in communications, client meetings, in public functions, and conferences.
  • Has signing and sealing authority when assigned by management.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, or coastal engineering. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) designation, with qualifications to apply for licensure in Florida and New York.
  • Minimum of 6 years of engineering design experience, ideally with infrastructure, civil, or marine-related projects.
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD, REVIT, SAP2000, L-Pile or equivalent engineering software.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects or multiple projects with moderate scope and complexity.
  • Ability to apply advanced engineering principles, particularly those relevant to structural and geotechnical engineering in waterfront structures.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage project teams and client relationships.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
